James Alicea is a litigator with experience in complex commercial, securities/white collar, antitrust, and judgment enforcement matters. James represents businesses and individuals in state and federal courts throughout the U.S.
Prior to joining Wilk Auslander, James worked for a large corporate firm in New York representing large financial institutions, multi-billion dollar corporations, and hedge funds in securities litigation, white collar investigation, and civil antitrust matters.
James is passionate about LGBTQ legal advocacy and has spent years representing clients pro bono from organizations such as GLAAD, Lambda Legal, the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF), and Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders (SAGE). In 2018, James was selected as an Empire State Counsel Honoree for exceptional pro bono service to his clients. In 2020, he was selected to New York Super Lawyers – Rising Stars.
James has also taught as an adjunct professor of law and government in New York City.
James graduated valedictorian from Wagner College in 2013 and attended Cornell Law School, where he graduated cum laude and served as an Honors Fellow and Professional Development Mentor. In addition to his studies, James served as an associate for the Cornell Law School Journal of Law and Public Policy and was recognized as a top competitor in Cornell Law School’s Mock Trial competitions.
In his spare time, James is an avid baker and enjoys theatre, fashion, and travel.
