Gene Pilman represent domestic and foreign, institutional, private equity, lender, developer and landlord clients in pursuing real estate acquisitions, new development, joint ventures, air-rights transfers, construction agreements, and leasing transactions as part of a broad based transactional practice that spans the entire life of a development from site selection due diligence, to acquisition, development and occupancy.

Additionally, Gene has extensive experience in land use and zoning law and advises clients on as-of-right property development potential, available discretionary entitlements, as well as environmental, political and regulatory issues that impact the use and development of real property. Gene has worked with teams of developers, architects and environmental consultants in securing variances, rezonings, special permits, certifications and authorizations from the City Planning Commission, Board of Standards and Appeals and the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

Gene also represents clients in administrative law matters and license applications before city, county and state agencies and administrative tribunals and works with the litigation team on complex pleadings and motions with a focus on Article 78 agency determination appeals and private disputes related to development rights.

Prior to joining Wilk Auslander in 2022, Gene was associated with Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP and started his career at a boutique land use and zoning firm.
