Says Eric Snyder, who handled both recent dealership bankruptcies, "Manufacturers don't really care -- they're moving the industry.  But for dealers, [selling to brokers] puts them between a rock and a hard place.  And it slowly, slowly erodes the meaning behind the franchise."
