Wilk Auslander Recognized for Supporting Employee Participation in the Military

May 4, 2016

At a banquet held in Albany at the end of April, Wilk Auslander had the privilege of being recognized by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense Office, as a firm with employment policies and practices that are supportive of their employees' participation in the National Guard and Reserve.

Mark Agard, Operations Manager at Wilk Auslander and Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, nominated Mary Micari, our Firm Administrator, on behalf of Wilk Auslander, for recognition.  Mark has served in the Reserves for over 15 years while working at Wilk Auslander, and has served several tours during that time; he recently returned from a tour in Afghanistan and begins another in August.

Wilk Auslander is proud to support him and humbled by his service to our country.  During the banquet, Brigadier General Raymond Shields thanked all the employers who were recognized for their support of Reserve members while they're serving abroad and when they return home.

"The ESGR event was a wonderful evening.  The Marine jazz combo played while we mingled with fellow honorees and got to know one another a bit before the ceremony began.  We were all touched to know that we were being honored not only by the ESGR, but by our employees," said Mary Micari, Firm Administrator.  "I was especially honored to be nominated by Mark.  He is a personal hero of mine and one of the finest people I know. I admire his resolve, bravery and character. It's our pleasure to support him while he serves." The firm couldn't agree more.
