Andrew P. Lederman is an experienced and seasoned attorney who regularly represents middle market companies as their outside general counsel. As such, he provides services in a number of different legal areas, including corporate matters, litigation, labor, tax and real estate matters. He acts as both a legal and a business advisor to his clients, who seek his guidance and advice on a variety of issues.

As a result of his many years of experience, as well as the depth and breadth of expertise at Wilk Auslander, Andrew has been able to provide much valued legal advice to his clients. He recognizes the realities of today's competitive business environment in order to produce common sense and economical strategies to address today's business and legal controversies.

In addition to his outside general counsel representations, Andrew regularly represents debtors, creditors, purchasers of distressed assets, landlords and other parties in interest in connection with bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workout. He has been involved in numerous litigations pending before Bankruptcy Courts in various jurisdictions. By working closely with each client, Andrew is able to identify the relevant issues and construct a plan tailored to the clients' specific needs, and as a result, he obtains successful outcomes on a regular basis.

Prior to joining Wilk Auslander, Andrew held positions in a number of prestigious New York law firms and has also been the head of his own practice.  Andrew is a member of the American Bar Association.

Representative Matters

  • Represented an insurance company that was a creditor of a Chapter 11 debtor that had engaged in a Ponzi scheme and was owed hundreds of millions of dollars as a result of its involvement with the debtor.
  • Represented a manufacturing company in connection with a claim for defective products.
  • Represented a purchaser of a telecommunications company out of a Chapter 11 proceeding pending in the Southern District of New York.  Client was the stalking horse bidder and the debtor-in-possession lender.
  • Represented the Trustee in a Securities Protection Investor Corporation (SIPC) liquidation proceeding in St. Louis, Missouri.
  • Represented numerous financial institutions in connection with recovery of their collateral from Chapter 11 debtors.
  • Represented a food store, apparel manufacturer and accessories importer in connection with the sale of their businesses.
  • Represented a manufacturer of Halloween costumes in a Chapter 11 proceeding in New York, New York that resulted in a 100% payment to its creditors.
  • Represented a restaurant in connection with an out-of-court settlement with its creditors.
  • Represented a media company in connection with the sublease of its entire premises.
  • Represented lenders in connection with their entry into asset based loans.
  • Represented petitioning creditors in connection with the filing of an involuntary bankruptcy petition.
  • Represented numerous litigants in both Federal and State Court litigations.
